One cent coins with the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II to Metro Express passengers
One cent coins, with the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, was distributed, on Monday, on board Metro Express Ltd’s (MEL) Light Rail Vehicles, on a first come first served basis, to passengers at the Port Louis Victoria station.
This special symbolic event was organised in the context of the Queen’s State funeral which was held on the same day.
This initiative is a joint collaboration of MEL and the owner of the ‘Musée de la Petite Collection’ in Rose Belle, Mr Goorooduth Chuttoo. The event was held in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of MEL, Dr Das Mootanah; Mr G. Chuttoo; and the MEL team.
