The MSM ruling party has criticised the Leader of the Opposition Xavier-Luc Duval for allegedly “creating psychosis and panic” about the island’s COVID-19 situation.

MSM MPs Vikash Nukcheddy, Rajanah Dhaliah and Joanne Tour reportedly alleged during a press conference on November 20 that members of the opposition have launched a campaign against the Minister of Health and the MSM regime – and allegedly indulging in “demagoguery”, while “taking advantage of the health crisis to do politics on dead bodies”.

Le Mauricien newspaper quoted MSM MP at Constituency No 7, Rajanah Dhaliah, as alleging that the opposition is allegedly “poisoning people’s minds.”

The press conference comes after Mauritius recorded its heaviest death toll, critical upsurge in COVID-19 cases – leading to growing anti-government sentiment.
