Security ramped up as Plaisance Airport receives bomb threat

The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport at Plaisance, Mauritius, was put on high alert after an airport employee claimed to have received a bomb threat on Saturday 23 October.

The employed asserted to have received an email that a bomb had been placed in the terminal.

Several police units, including the Bomb Disposal Team of the Special Mobile Force, were called in. According to Defi Media, the terminal was combed throughly, but nothing was found.

Police have opened an inquiry to find the hoaxer and have simultaneously beefed-up security in the building.
