Bank’s PR stunt turns into PR disaster
A PR stunt by SBI (Mauritius) Ltd on the launch of an ATM at the Larsen & Toubro site in Richelieu as part of its attempt to expand its network has backfired.
Social networks went berserk after this photo showing Indian diplomats and L&T executives without facemasks went public.
The ‘ceremony’ was attended by Janesh Kain, Deputy High Commissioner, Sudhir Sharma, MD & CEO of SBI (Mauritius) Ltd and Sanjeev Gupta, Country Head L&T.
Questions are being raised on the rationale for such “amazing facilities” allegedly being offered to Indian businesses.
Many also questionned if those attending the ceremony just flew back from India and were “excused of quarantine.”
