Tevin Sithanen Slams ‘Dubious Agenda’ Behind Sanspeur’s Allegations

Tevin Sithanen, who has been publicly accused by Gérard Sanspeur, has broken his silence to denounce the claims as “unfounded and manipulative,” announcing he will pursue legal action to defend his reputation.

Sithanen, who insisted he has no political ambitions, expressed shock and sadness, stating the attacks were a “sordid manoeuvre” to target his father.

He described the situation as a “deep injustice” and a “war orchestrated with a dubious agenda.”

Targeting a Family Man

Sithanen, a family man, said the allegations deeply affected his loved ones, who do not deserve to suffer from “unjust accusations.”

He said he was “deeply hurt” by what he saw as a betrayal from someone he once considered a friend.

He said he was horrified that certain media outlets, “close to this person,” had relayed the “serious accusations without the slightest proof or verification,” fueling “unjust polarisation.”

Political Ambitions Denied

Sithanen denied having a political career, stating he is “neither interested, nor a candidate, nor nominated for any governmental position whatsoever.”

While he had provided assistance on the ground during the last general elections, he says he has since been fully focused on his professional activities.

He said he had been warned about Sanspeur’s “tumultuous past and vindictive nature” but had “naively refused to believe it.”

He noted they had been exchanging messages long before the November 2024 elections and Sanspeur’s appointment.

He added he no longer recognised the man “playing this obscure game,” questioning whether he was blind or if Sanspeur had “simply changed masks.”
