Police Track Email Author after Plaisance Airport Bomb Threat Alert
An investigation has been launched by police IT specialists to trace the author of a bomb threat sent via email to Plaisance Airport, which sparked an immediate security operation.
The electronic message, which claimed a bomb threat was targeting a car park within the airport precinct, was received last Monday, 25 May, on the company’s email inbox. The alert triggered a full security response.
Following the alert, the Bomb Squad’s Explosive Handling Unit was deployed to the scene.
Supported by sniffer dogs, the specialist team carried out all the necessary security checks throughout the area.
The police IT Unit has now been tasked with tracking the origin of the email to identify the individual responsible for the threat.
