Motorcyclist Killed in Violent Collision Near Labourdonnais Roundabout

A motorcyclist has died following a violent collision with a lorry at the Labourdonnais roundabout in Mapou on Monday afternoon, 6 April.

The victim succumbed to their injuries at the scene after being struck by the heavy vehicle.

Emergency services attended the site, and the deceased has since been transported to a mortuary pending a formal post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Following the incident, the driver of the lorry was taken into custody by officers at Piton police station.

He is currently assisting police with their ongoing enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
