Mauritius Secures 50 Days of Gas Supply as Australian Cargo Arrives Safely
Households across Mauritius have been reassured that there is no need for panic buying following the arrival of a fresh shipment of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
Minister of Commerce, Michael Sik Yuen, confirmed that a new cargo of domestic gas arrived from Australia on Wednesday, 18 March.
This delivery has significantly bolstered national reserves, with the country now holding approximately 50 days of stock.
Addressing public concerns regarding supply stability, the Minister stated firmly, “There is no reason to panic.”
To ensure continued security of supply, a further delivery is already scheduled to arrive between 3 and 4 April.
The government remains confident that these staggered shipments will maintain a consistent flow of cooking gas for the population.
