Mauritius Closes All Schools this Monday 30 March Due to Heavy Rain
State and private educational institutions will remain shut today, Monday 30 March, as a heavy rain warning takes effect across the island.
The Ministry of Education and Human Resources confirmed the closure this morning following an official alert issued by the Mauritius Meteorological Station.
The suspension of classes applies to all pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools, as well as Special Education Needs (SEN) institutions and technical and vocational training centres, including those under the MITD.
While students are to remain at home, the Ministry has instructed all heads of schools and non-teaching staff to report to their respective sites.
Personnel are required to conduct a formal assessment of the premises to determine the impact of the weather conditions.
The decision affects both the public and private sectors as authorities continue to monitor the evolving meteorological situation.
