Adding oil to fire: Protest in Port Louis on November 6

Leftist political party ‘Rezistans ek Alternativ’ will hold a peaceful demonstration in Port Louis on November 6 to contest the implementation of the new Offshore Petroleum Bill which was presented in  parliament on Tuesday.

The theme of the protest will reportedly be ‘Adding oil to fire’.

Activists of ‘Rezistans ek Alternativ’ denounce the dangers of the new bill, which they claim will allow the exploitation of natural resources by capitalists. 

Rezistans ek Alternativ’ also fears there could be more oil spills which will jeopardize the marine ecosystems of the Indian Ocean.
