2 CWA Pumping Stations Fail, Leaving Residents Without Water in North Mauritius
Residents in several northern regions of Mauritius are facing irregular water supply, today September 2nd, after two crucial pumping facilities were shut down for repairs. The Central Water Authority (CWA) announced the disruption, which is expected to last from 9 a.m. until late in the evening.
The affected areas include Triolet, Solitude, parts of Plaine-des-Papayes, Trou-aux-Biches, and Pointe-aux-Piments.
The CWA stated the irregular supply is due to a drop in the water level at the Plaine-des-Papayes service reservoir, caused by the stoppage of two pumping facilities (CPFs) located there.
To mitigate the inconvenience, water tankers will be made available for consumers in the affected localities.
