During a mobilization meeting held last night in Plaine Verte, opposition leader Shakeel Mohamed raised concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in Mauritius.

Mohamed pointed out the increasing number of theft cases in the country, highlighting the rising trend of criminality in recent times.

Addressing the audience, Mohamed expressed the urgent need for change, stating that “Everyone realizes that we have a law and order problem. The whole of Mauritius wants a change in government.”

He also criticized the current government’s policies, questioning their effectiveness in tackling crime and ensuring public safety.

The gathering was part of preparations for a large rally scheduled to take place on May 1st, where citizens are expected to voice their demands for improved security measures and a more robust law enforcement system.

Mohamed’s remarks reflect growing concerns over the worsening situation of crime and violence in Mauritius, sparking calls for immediate action to address these issues.
