Key cases on hold at the Supreme Court
The Supreme Court, which heard its final cases for the year, has been on a month-long hiatus since Friday.
This break, in accordance with Rule 56 of the Supreme Court Rules of 2000, provides judges with an opportunity to focus on writing judgments but also raises concerns about its impact on an already busy judicial calendar.
This quarterly pause in the court’s schedule could result in additional delays in the handling of significant cases, both politically and constitutionally, as judgments are eagerly anticipated.
