Police Units Join FCC To Raid 2 Suspected Traffickers In Richelieu
A high-stakes operation led by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of two vehicles this Thursday, 26 February, following a targeted raid in the Richelieu area.
The intervention is part of a wider investigation into money laundering activities linked to drug trafficking.
Specialized units perquisitioned the home of two suspected traffickers during the early hours of Thursday.
Elite Units Deployed
The FCC conducted the raid with significant tactical support to ensure the security of the perimeter. The operation saw the deployment of:
- GIPM: The Mauritian Police Intervention Group.
- MARCOS: Commandos from the Special Mobile Force.
Assets Seized
In addition to the arrest, officers seized two vehicles from the premises as evidence of suspected illicit gains.
Authorities have confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing as they continue to trace the financial trails associated with the local narcotics trade.
