Man Aged 46 Dies Following Maintenance Accident at a College In Flacq

A man has died following a tragic workplace accident at Darwin College in Flacq on Tuesday, 10 February. The victim, a sub-contractor and resident of Nouvelle-France, was reportedly carrying out maintenance work on the school building when he fell from the roof.

Early reports suggest the man lost his balance, resulting in a fall of several metres.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene immediately; however, they were unable to revive him and his death was confirmed at the site.

Investigation Underway

Flacq police have launched an official inquiry to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. Officers attended the scene to begin gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Post-Mortem Examination

The victim’s body has been transported to the hospital mortuary. A forensic autopsy is scheduled to take place to determine the precise cause of death as part of the ongoing investigation.
