ADSU: Significant Drug Haul in Roche-Bois: 30-Year-Old Suspect Detained
A major anti-drug operation in Roche-Bois has resulted in the seizure of illicit substances valued at over Rs 600,000 and the arrest of a 30-year-old suspected dealer. The raid, conducted yesterday, Saturday 7 February, was carried out by the Abercrombie Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU).
Led by Inspector Lepois, officers uncovered a diverse cache of narcotics, including synthetic drugs, heroin, and cannabis.

Details of the Seizure
The operation yielded a significant quantity of prohibited items intended for distribution. According to official reports, the inventory of seized goods includes:
- Synthetic Drugs: 389 impregnated paper sheets, 133 individual doses, and a bulk package weighing 90 grams.
- Heroin: 6.1 grams of the substance alongside 15 prepared doses.
- Cannabis: 42 “pouliahs” (small foil wraps).
In addition to the narcotics, police confiscated Rs 7,200 in cash, which investigators believe to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
Ongoing Investigation
The suspect, a resident of Roche-Bois, remains in police custody as the primary suspect in the case. The successful sting forms part of a broader effort to combat local trafficking.
The investigation is currently being supervised by Assistant Superintendent Azmi Rohomutally as authorities continue their enquiries into the distribution network.
