Sensitive Client Data Stolen in 2025 Leaked on Dark Web, Rogers Capital Confirms
Rogers Capital Credit has confirmed that highly sensitive customer documents, including passport copies and national identity cards, have been leaked on the dark web following a major cybersecurity breach. The fraudulent publication occurred on 19 January 2026, after a malicious third party gained access to company records.
Investigators believe the data was illegally harvested during a “cybersecurity incident” that took place in December 2025.
Scope of the Leak
An ongoing internal analysis indicates that the breach impacts customer data up to and including the year 2022.
The leaked files are reported to contain a wealth of personal and financial documentation, including:
- Identification: Copies of passports and National Identity Cards (NIC).
- Financial Records: Proof of income, banking details, and credit information.
- Personal Data: Proof of address, civil status, and “Know Your Customer” (KYC) documentation.
Corporate and Regulatory Response
The company has formally notified the relevant regulatory authorities and has enlisted external specialists to manage the fallout.
In an official statement, Rogers Capital Credit confirmed it has “further strengthened” its existing security protocols in response to the attack.
“We recognize that data breaches constitute a major cause for concern,” the management stated, adding that teams remain “fully mobilized” to support affected clients.
Advice for Customers
The firm has urged all clients to remain vigilant against the potential illicit use of their personal information.
While the company expressed regret over the situation, security experts typically advise those affected by such leaks to monitor their bank accounts for suspicious transactions and remain alert for sophisticated phishing attempts.
