Major Cannabis Bust in Mauritius Nets Rs 33.5 Million of Drugs and Arrests Man
The Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) in Mauritius has seized 13.4 kilograms of cannabis with an estimated street value of Rs 33.5 million.
The substantial haul led to the arrest of a 21-year-old man from the village of La Gaulette, who is now in police custody.
The successful operation, described as a fine catch by local authorities, was executed by the ADSU’s Rose-Belle branch on Wednesday, December 10.
The unit acted on precise intelligence.
The operation was led by Chief Inspector Appasamy, operating under the supervision of Assistant Superintendent of Police Sooknah.
