CWA Blames Muddy River Conditions

A spokesperson for the Central Water Authority (CWA) was contacted regarding the crisis and offered a justification for the supply interruption.

The official stated that the problem stems from the closure of the mobile water treatment station at Baie du Cap, which is the primary source of supply for the region. The station’s pump had to be stopped because the river water had become excessively muddy, rendering the treatment process impossible.

Cleanup Underway, Supply Set to Resume

The CWA provided an assurance that a team is currently on site working to clean the Baie du Cap unit.

The Authority stated that distribution is expected to resume as quickly as possible.
