Luxury Estate Pledges 100% Local Talent in Bold Mauritian Development Model
Mont Choisy Golf & Beach Estate is positioning itself not merely as a luxury residential development but as a pioneering “city of tomorrow,” according to its Chief Operating Officer, Dominique Autrey, who stresses a deep commitment to sustainability and community.
The 540-hectare estate, located on the fringe of the vibrant coastal village of Grand-Baie, is described as a rare space where high-end residences, an international golf course, nature, heritage, and community life coexist.
Sustainability and Heritage at the Core
Mr. Autrey, who directs the estate’s operations, underlined that the group’s intent is “not to concrete, but to create a sustainable place for the future and for the community.”
He further stated, “We are developing the city of tomorrow, with everything needed, but keeping our values and a profound respect for the environment.”
He pointed to the vast green spaces preserved across the domain, calling it “exceptional,” and highlighted the careful restoration of the historical heart of the estate, known as the ‘L’Héritage Yard,’ with its century-old colonial house and restored former stables.
“We restored it not to be profitable, but to preserve its soul. It is our living heart,” he explained.

Integrated Living and Community Focus
Mont Choisy is designed as a complete living environment, featuring an independent golf course, an equestrian centre, a leisure centre, a mall, and cultural events.
A future green promenade, ‘Le Parcours,’ is planned to connect all components of the domain, intended as “a place of life for residents and inhabitants of the North.”
The estate is active in the local community, having sponsored social and sporting initiatives, including supporting schools and sponsoring children from vulnerable backgrounds to introduce them to golf and sailing.
The Mont Choisy Night Run also draws increasing numbers of participants, illustrating a commitment to making the golf course a space open to the community.
Significantly, the estate is credited with improving daily life in Grand-Baie by developing the Grand-Baie boulevard, which has eased traffic congestion in the coastal area.
Mr. Autrey affirmed this community-centric approach, stating, “We are here to build with the community, not next to it.”
Future Ambitions and Local Talent
While the estate attracts investors globally, its vocation remains “profoundly Mauritian,” with the direct staff team composed of 100% local talent.
Future extensions are set to include a school, a clinic, living spaces, and community infrastructure, as Mont Choisy aims to become the Mauritian model for integrated, sustainable development.
Mr. Autrey holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Hotel Management and brings over 22 years of expertise in luxury hospitality, with previous senior roles at prestigious resorts in Mauritius and the Seychelles.
He now oversees all group operations, including golf, leisure, real estate management, commercial ventures, agriculture, and livestock.
His ultimate aspiration is that in “20 to 25 years, Mont Choisy remains faithful to its values: a healthy, sustainable place to live, where everyone feels they belong.”
