35-Yr-Old Woman’s Body Found; Husband Arrested in Fatal Mystery

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of his wife’s body near a river in Plaine-des-Papayes.

Aumanand Singh Cornet was apprehended this morning, Monday, October 27, while on his way to the hospital. His arrest comes after the lifeless body of his wife, 35-year-old Natasha Cornet, was found on Sunday, October 26.

Police immediately treated the discovery near the river as a potential crime. Detectives from the Goodlands CID, assisted by the MCIT (Major Crime Investigation Team), were involved in the operation that led to the husband’s arrest.

The investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding Natasha Cornet’s death is ongoing.
