Mauritius Malagasy Diaspora Seeks Arrest Over 'Suspect' 5R-HMR Jet Landing

A group representing the Malagasy diaspora in Mauritius, “Génération Z Malagasy Maurice,” has publicly demanded the immediate arrest and extradition of the occupants of a private jet that landed on Mauritian soil in the early hours of Sunday, 12 October.

The organisation expressed “concern and indignation” following the “suspect” arrival of the Malagasy-registered aircraft, a Trans Ocean Airways (TOA) jet with registration number 5R-HMR, which touched down on the tarmac at 00:47 local time.

In a statement posted on social media, Génération Z Malagasy Maurice cited “overwhelming facts” suggesting the jet had been denied landing clearance by French authorities on the nearby island of Réunion before diverting to Mauritius.

The flight is reported to have originated from Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo.

Beyond demanding the immediate arrest and subsequent extradition of the occupants to Madagascar, the group is also seeking “clear and immediate answers.”

This includes demanding to know the identities of both the individuals aboard the aircraft and the Mauritian personnel who authorised the landing.
