Mauritius has seen a significant growth in its number of active businesses, reaching 116,050 as of September 2nd, a notable rise from 112,986 in January. This growth highlights the country’s expanding entrepreneurial landscape.

Private Companies Dominate Growth

The surge is largely driven by private companies, which make up the vast majority of active entities at 80,737. .

Public companies and foreign companies, in contrast, number 347 and 157, respectively.

The data, recently published by the Registrar of Companies, reflects the dynamism of the Mauritian economy.

Growth in Civil partnerships

The Mauritian business framework is characterized by a wide variety of legal structures.

This adaptability is evident in the presence of 15,035 Global Business Companies and 616 foundations.

Additionally, there are over 10,000 civil partnerships, showcasing the readiness of local entrepreneurs to utilize different legal forms to grow their operations.
