Fake Police Gang of 6 Busted After Robbing 3 Locations

Six individuals posing as police officers have been arrested following a series of robberies at two massage parlours and a guesthouse. The suspects, four men and two women, were apprehended in Curepipe and Quatre-Bornes on Tuesday, 26th August.

Police seized money, weapons, and drugs from the group. The arrests were carried out by the Divisional Crime Intelligence Unit of the North and Central divisions, as well as the Goodlands CID.

The gang confessed to their crimes during questioning. Their known activities included:

  • Monday: Posing as CID officers, they stole Rs 9,000 and searched several rooms at a guesthouse in Goodlands.
  • Saturday: They raided a spa in Péreybère under the pretext of investigating a Malagasy prostitution ring.
  • Thursday, 21st August: They stormed a massage parlour in Rose-Hill, stealing Rs 3,500 and several mobile phones.
