The daughter of MP Eshan Juman has declined her recent appointment as a commissioner at the Competition Commission of Mauritius, a position she accepted merely a week prior. Nabiihah Juman took to Facebook to announce her decision, expressing both gratitude for the trust placed in her and her initial enthusiasm for serving her country in this role.

In her statement, Juman highlighted the voluntary nature of her acceptance and her eagerness to contribute positively.

However, faced with a deluge of criticism and controversy on social media, she felt compelled to prioritise her integrity and that of her family.

“It is with regret, but with conviction, that I have made the decision to decline this nomination,” she wrote, underscoring her commitment to maintaining her personal honour amidst the backlash.
