Anticyclone: Temperatures Drop to 19°C, Strong Winds and Light Rain
Mauritius is currently experiencing weather conditions influenced by a significant anticyclone approaching from the south of the Mascarenes. This high-pressure system is strengthening winds across the region, while a nearby area of instability is gradually moving westward.
As of Monday, August 11, 2025, the morning remained cloudy with intermittent showers, mainly on the eastern, southern, and central plateau areas. Fog patches are also expected in the higher elevations.
During the day, light rain is forecasted over the central plateau, but elsewhere the weather should be mostly clear.
Temperatures will range from 19 to 22°C on the central plateau and between 25 and 28°C along the coast.
Tonight, the sky will be partly cloudy over windward slopes and the central plateau, with occasional light showers.
Other areas will have partly cloudy conditions. Min temperatures will be between 16 and 18°C on the plateau and 20 to 22°C at the coast.
Winds will blow from the east-southeast at 20 to 30 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 60 km/h. The sea will be rough beyond the reefs, with southwest swells around 2.5 meters.
Marine activities in open waters are not recommended.
