Weather Forecast: Residents to Expect Cooler Temperatures Between 14°C and 20°C

Issued at 04h30 on Thursday, August 7, 2025, this Meteorological forecast reports that a strong high-pressure system south of the Mascarenes, including Mauritius, is bringing cooler air across the region. At the same time, clouds from the southeast are drifting in and sometimes affecting the weather.

This morning, you’ll see mostly cloudy skies with some rain, especially in the East, South, and over the highlands.

As the day progresses, the weather should clear up a bit, becoming partly cloudy. Temperatures will be cooler — around 18 to 20°C in the central plateau and warmer along the coast, between 22 and 25°C.

Tonight, the sky will stay cloudy with more rain in the East, South, and highlands. Temperatures will drop to between 14 and 16°C in the highlands and 18 to 20°C along the coast.

Winds are coming from the southeast at about 25 km/h, gusting up to 50 km/h, making the sea rough beyond the reefs with waves up to 2.5 meters. Because of the rough seas, open-sea activities are not recommended.

Tides will be high at 12:48 p.m. and 11:56 p.m., and low at 6:12 a.m. and 6:15 p.m.

The sun rises at 6:36 a.m. and sets at 5:55 p.m.

The atmospheric pressure early this morning was 1019 hectopascals.

Stay safe and keep an eye on the weather if you’re heading to sea or planning outdoor activities.
