Rescue at ‘Natural Bridge’: 1 Man Saved by Police Helicopter
An impressive rescue occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, August 7th, at the Natural Bridge in the southeastern part of the island. A man in distress was saved at the last moment by the Police Helicopter Squadron during a difficult operation in this rocky, wind-swept area.
According to initial reports, the man—whose identity has not yet been disclosed—was in a dangerous position on a cliff.
He apparently slipped or ventured too close to the edge, becoming trapped and unable to make his way to safety on his own.
Witnesses quickly alerted emergency services. Due to the rugged terrain and the risk of falling, ground rescue efforts were not possible.
An emergency helicopter from the Police Helicopter Squadron was dispatched immediately.
Despite strong gusts of wind and the proximity to the cliffs, the rescue was carried out calmly and carefully.
Using a winch, a rescue worker was lowered to the man, who was then safely hoisted into the helicopter.
