Emirates Pushes Up 3rd Flight to Mauritius, Increasing Competition
Dubai-based airline Emirates will launch a third daily flight to Mauritius starting December 1, in partnership with Air Mauritius. This increase brings the number of daily flights between Dubai and Mauritius to three.
In a statement released Monday 21st July, Emirates said the additional flight aims to support Mauritius’s tourism sector. The extra flight will be operated by a Boeing 777 and responds to growing demand from travelers.
Emirates plans to improve connectivity and boost the promotion of Mauritius in Asian markets such as Japan, China, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
Tickets for the new daily flight are already available on Emirates’ website.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy Chairman and Chief Commercial Officer, explained that the new schedule results from renewing their partnership with Air Mauritius.
This move will increase flight capacity on the Dubai–Mauritius route by over 30%.
Emirates also hopes to better position Mauritius internationally and actively support the island’s tourism industry.
Kazim added that international travel demand has been rising, prompting the airline to add the extra flight.
Currently, Emirates operates 14 weekly flights between Dubai and Mauritius.
