CEB Offers 3,000 Free Solar Kits for Communities and Households
The Central Electricity Board (CEB) has announced a free solar equipment program. Eligible clients are invited to apply for the distribution of approximately 1,000 solar photovoltaic kits.
These kits are part of Phase 2 of CEB’s Renewable Energy Program, targeting religious organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and charitable institutions.
Additionally, around 2,000 solar kits will be distributed free of charge under Phase 2B of CEB’s Domestic Solar Energy Project. This initiative is aimed at individual households that meet specific criteria, including:
- Being registered in the Social Register of Mauritius
- Receiving benefits from the National Inclusion Foundation
- Residing or renting a home from the National Development Company Ltd or New Social Living Development Ltd
- Being eligible for CEB’s Eco-Village Project
- Being enrolled in the CEB Social Tariff (Tariff 110A)
The program aims to promote renewable energy and support vulnerable communities across the country.
