Reward Money: Sergeant Arrested by FCC Over Rs19.3 Million Fraud
Sergeant Yeshdeo Seeboruth was taken into custody by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on Wednesday 16th July after a lengthy interrogation. The police officer is being investigated for suspected misappropriation of public funds related to the “Reward Money” scheme.
During the investigation, authorities found over Rs 19.3 million in his bank account, covering transactions from September to October 2024.
This amount is suspected to come from illegal activities.
Sergeant Seeboruth is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday 17th July, where he will face charges of money laundering under Article 36 of the FCC Act.
He spent the night in detention at the Moka Detention Centre and has hired lawyer Nadeem Hyderkhan.
