Safety Boost: 5 New Measures on Forbach to Poudre d’Or Road

Road users traveling along the 5.4-kilometer stretch between the Forbach roundabout (M2) and the junction of B42 (Forbach Road) and B16 (Poudre d’Or Road) can expect safety improvements soon.

This route, passing through Cottage and L’Espérance Trébuchet, will see new measures aimed at protecting drivers and pedestrians, announced the Transport Minister in Parliament on Tuesday, July 8.

Currently, the speed limit on this section is 60 km/h. Safety features already in place include traffic lights at the Cottage intersection (B42/B43 junction), speed bumps near the Community Health Center and St. Benoit Hardware Store in Cottage, and a speed radar near Big Splash Sports Club in L’Espérance Trébuchet.

However, additional safety measures will soon be introduced. These include installing reflective posts for better visibility at night, building a raised speed bump near the pre-primary school in Forbach, and creating a pedestrian crossing close to Meena Bazaar in Cottage.

These efforts aim to make the route safer for everyone.
