Rodrigues is exporting more than just fruit—it’s sharing a piece of its soul. Nine and a half tons of bright green lemons, grown under the sun and carefully harvested, are leaving the island. These lemons, bursting with Rodrigues’ unique freshness, are destined to become 100% pure lemon juice bottled by Phoenix Beverages.

This isn’t just about fruit. The Rodrigues lemon symbolizes the island’s daring spirit, innovative agriculture, and a people proud of their land’s richness.

Under the watchful eye of Agriculture Commissioner Louis Ange Perrine, the containers were sealed with care, holding a vibrant, living treasure—Rodrigues’ lemon.

The story doesn’t end here. The Agriculture Department has officially requested a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) for the Rodrigues lemon.

This designation would highlight that the fruit’s flavor and character are unique to Rodrigues, shaped by its climate, expertise, and passion.
