Nigerian Arrested with 366g Heroin Hidden Inside Body, Worth Rs5.49 Million

A Nigerian woman was arrested at the Mauritius airport after authorities found 366 grams of heroin hidden in her body. The suspect was stopped by officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Section (CANS) of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) during a routine profiling exercise. She arrived from Nigeria, with a stopover in Dubai.

During questioning, her responses appeared inconsistent, raising suspicions. Although baggage scanners and checks of her belongings showed nothing unusual, she was subjected to a thorough body search.

She then admitted to carrying drugs but was unable to have the substances removed on the spot.

The woman was transferred to the drug enforcement unit and taken to a hospital for extraction.

Authorities found a cylinder containing about 259 grams of heroin inside her vagina, as well as four pellets weighing a total of 107 grams hidden in her anus.

She was placed under arrest, and an investigation is ongoing. The total estimated street value of the seized heroin is approximately Rs 5.49 million.
