Mauritius Faces 3°C Drop, Strong Winds, & Rough Seas from July 2

A cold front and an anticyclone are expected to bring a drop of about 3°C in temperature starting this Wednesday, July 2, 2025. The change is caused by a cold front moving in from the southwest, followed by a high-pressure system from the same direction.
This information comes from the Weather Outlook issued at 2:30 p.m. by the Vacoas weather station for Mauritius and Rodrigues.
According to the meteorological service, this system will cause temporary showers, mainly over the highlands of Mauritius on Tuesday night.
Afterward, the anticyclone will strengthen southern winds and bring colder air to the island. The cold front is also expected to reach Rodrigues on 2nd June, Wednesday afternoon.
The sea will become very rough, with waves reaching about 4 meters. Marine activities are strongly discouraged from Tuesday evening onwards around Mauritius.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions against the cold and windy weather, which is expected to last until Friday, July 4, 2025.
