Mauritius Calm Weather Fades as Rain & Wind Arrive, Minimum Temperature 21°C

Mauritius faces a day of changing skies and shifting winds as clouds linger from an instability zone, bringing occasional rain and fog. With moderate southeast trade winds and rough seas, residents and visitors should stay alert to the weather’s evolving patterns. Here’s what to expect over the next 24 hours. An anticyclone located to the South-Southeast of the Mascarenes is maintaining moderate southeast trade winds over the region.

Expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rain mainly over the Eastern part of the island, the South, and the highlands. Some fog patches may form in certain areas.

By the afternoon, weather conditions will generally improve, becoming mostly fair.

Maximum temperatures today will range from 21°C to 23°C in the Central Plateau, and between 25°C and 28°C along the coast.

The night weather will remain partly cloudy, with clouds increasing mainly in the East, South, and highlands, bringing occasional rain.

Minimum temperatures will be between 15°C and 17°C in the highlands, and 19°C to 21°C along the coasts.

Winds will blow from the east at around 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 60 km/h in exposed areas.

Sea conditions will be rough beyond the reefs, with south-westerly swells of about 3 meters.

Boating in the open sea and in the Western and Southern lagoons is not recommended.

Waves and winds are expected to stay strong, so caution is advised for those venturing out to sea.
