Crash Involving 3 Vehicles Closes Motorway M1 Near Pailles, 2 Injured

On Wednesday, June 25, a three-vehicle accident occurred on the M1 motorway near Montebello, close to Pailles, heading towards Port Louis. The crash involved a bus, a truck, and a van, causing traffic disruptions.

To ease congestion, police had set up detours, and drivers were advised to follow officers’ instructions and use alternative routes until the road is fully reopened.

Both victims were taken to the Dr. Jeetoo Hospital in Port Louis.

The driver’s helper, who was slightly injured, was quickly rescued. The main driver, trapped in the cab, required more time for rescue by firefighters.

All three vehicles have been removed from the road, and debris is being cleared.

Latest update, traffic has resumed, according to Sub-Inspector Mirzah Boodhun.
