Middle East Tensions: 5 Emergency Contacts for Mauritians in the Region

Recent events have heightened tensions in the Middle East. On Monday evening, June 23rd, people in Doha, Qatar, were seen heading to supermarkets amid the escalating conflict.

Following American strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran, Iran launched an attack early Monday evening on a U.S. military base in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Israel conducted airstrikes on Tehran, targeting Evine prison and the Fordo nuclear facility, marking the 11th day of ongoing hostilities.The situation remains extremely tense across the region.

The Mauritian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on June 23rd, calling on all parties involved to immediately cease hostilities.

They urged restraint and dialogue to restore peaceful coexistence in the area.
