Mauritius Telecom has launched a pilot project called “mytGPT for education” at Maréchal College in Rodrigues. Announced on June 17, the initiative aims to incorporate artificial intelligence into the local education system. Developed by Mauritius Telecom’s innovation team, the platform is designed to support teachers and students by making learning more interactive and personalized, aligning with 21st-century demands.

The project will start in the third quarter of 2025 and will initially involve 70 Grade 12 students studying mathematics, physics, and accounting.

The AI-powered platform will serve as a teaching assistant, helping teachers plan lessons and track student progress.

Students will receive tailored support, easier access to specialized resources, and assistance suited to their individual learning paces.

Training workshops for teachers and interactive sessions for students will be organized to familiarize them with the new tool.
