Viral Video Captures 3-on-1 Machete Assault Over Parking Feud

A disturbing video has gone viral on social media since Sunday night, showing a violent altercation involving several individuals in Vallée-Pitot, a suburb of Port Louis.

The footage captures a man being brutally beaten by three others before collapsing onto the asphalt.

The situation escalates further when another individual armed with a machete intervenes, leading to a knife fight between the assailants. The clash only subsides after police officers arrive at the scene.

Video:Dispute Turns Violent

According to a police complaint, the incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, June 14, and stemmed from an argument over a parked vehicle.

One of the victims told investigators that the dispute began with his mother-in-law’s neighbour, who lives on China Street.

The victim stated that he had parked his car along the road when the neighbour, accompanied by his son, allegedly threatened him, saying in Creole: “That’s my son’s spot. If you don’t move it, we’ll smash it and set it on fire.”

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the altercation.
