Mauritius Faces Strong Winds, 70 km/h Gusts, and Rough Seas

Weather update: Mauritius remains under the influence of a strong anticyclone south-west of the Mascarene Islands, bringing cold trade winds across the region. According to the meteorological station, cloudy periods are expected early morning and at the start of the day on the east, south, and central plateau, with occasional light rain. Elsewhere, skies will be partly cloudy.
Conditions are expected to improve during the day, with a mostly sunny afternoon.
As the day goes on, light rain is forecast in the highlands and windward slopes, while the rest of the island will remain partly cloudy.
Maximum temperatures will range from 20 to 23°C on the central plateau and 25 to 28°C along the coast.
Minimum temperatures will be between 14 and 17°C in the highlands and 19 to 22°C on the coast.
Winds are blowing from the southeast at 25 to 35 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 70 km/h in some areas.
People are advised to exercise caution, especially when working at heights or driving on exposed roads.
At sea, conditions are rough beyond the reefs, with swell heights of around 3.5 meters coming from the southwest.
Sea outings in the open ocean and in the lagoons of the West, South, and East are strongly discouraged.
