Juliette’s Death: Ex-CP Dip and Dr. Gungadin Called as Witnesses on August 6

Announced by lawyer Nataraj Muneesamy during a court session at Pamplemousses on Wednesday, June 5th, judicial investigation into Jacquelin Juliette’s death continues. On August 6, former police commissioner Anil Kumar Dip and forensic head Dr. Sudesh Kumar Gungadin are scheduled to testify.
The day’s proceedings included the testimony of constable Job, who explained the police action during Juliette’s arrest on January 5, 2023.
Constable Job stated that police did not use force when arresting Jacquelin Juliette.
He clarified that no search warrant was issued for Juliette that day; the warrant was actually for someone named Daniel Juliette.
The police approached Jacquelin Juliette, informing him they suspected he was carrying illegal substances and that a search would be conducted.
Juliette reportedly agreed to go with them. He was then asked to get into a police vehicle to keep the operation discreet, as several people watched.
Once inside the vehicle, Juliette reportedly acted hostile, trying to distract the officers and inciting the crowd.
Constable Job said this type of behavior is common among drug traffickers. He emphasized that no violence was used and that Juliette did not complain of pain.
Since no illegal substances were found on him, he was released shortly afterward.
Additionally, former sergeant Hélène testified that he did not see Juliette during the operation.
