Rodrigues Launches 2024 Ports Master Plan Talks with MPA

Discussions to create a Ports Master Plan for Rodrigues officially began on Monday, June 9. A delegation from the Mauritius Ports Authority (MPA), led by President Maurice Allet, attended the preliminary meetings in the afternoon.

Key topics on the agenda include assessing the performance of the Cargo Handling Corporation in Rodrigues and reviewing the operations of the vessel MV Peros Banhos.

This ship was built by Chinese company Huanghai Ship Building Co. Limited and was delivered to the Mauritius Shipping Corporation in December 2023.

The vessel is mainly used to transport goods between Mauritius and Rodrigues, as well as between Mauritius and the island of Agalega.
