French Ambassador Visits Mauritius Ports, Explores 2024 Strategic Partnerships

On June 6, the Mauritius Ports Authority (MPA) hosted a visit by French Ambassador Frédéric Bontems and his economic attaché, Sophian Chamot. The visit began with a courtesy meeting between the French delegation, MPA President Maurice Allet, and Interim Director General Aruna Bunwaree Ramsaha.

During this meeting, Deputy General Manager Shakeel Goburdhone provided a presentation on port activities and upcoming development projects.

The Ambassador showed keen interest in expanding cooperation between France and Mauritius.

He highlighted opportunities for joint projects, especially in collaboration with the Indian Ocean Commission, an organization with which France maintains strong ties.

The visit concluded with a tour of the port, opening the door for future discussions on strategic partnerships and joint initiatives.
