CIM Financial Services Ltd (Cim Finance) has been added to the Stock Exchange of Mauritius Sustainability Index (SEMSI). This index tracks the performance of companies based on their sustainable development practices.

Ambrish Maharahaje, Group CEO of Cim Finance, said, “Joining the SEMSI is more than just a label.

It recognizes our belief that finance can and should be a driver for lasting economic and social change.

This milestone encourages us to do even more. We are committed to building a responsible, meaningful, and inclusive financial sector that looks to the future.”

In 2022, Cim Finance launched one of Mauritius’s first green bonds, funding projects such as electric vehicle purchases and solar panel installations.

In 2024, the company established an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sub-committee led by an independent director.

The group has also reduced paper use through its mobile app, MoFinans, which offers digital lending and payment services.

Additionally, Cim Finance received LEED certification for its headquarters and aligned its financial reporting with international standards IFRS S1 and S2 from the ISSB, aiming for greater transparency.

The company is currently conducting an ESG materiality assessment to identify the most relevant issues for its stakeholders.
