Navin Ramgoolam: "This Budget Aims to Save the Country, Not Boost Popularity"

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Navin Ramgoolam stated on June 6, 2025, that the government designed the 2025-26 budget to save the country, not to gain popularity. He made the comments in an interview with Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, the day after presenting the budget.

PM Ramgoolam explained several budget measures, including a gradual increase in the retirement age, which will now rise to 65 years.
