Mauritius Hosts 2025 African Asia Pacific Choir Games in September

Mauritius will host the “African Asia Pacific Choir Games & Grand Prix of Nations” from September 27 to October 5, 2025. This major international musical event aims to bring together choirs from around the world.

The official launch took place on May 19 at the Hennessy Park Hotel. Attendees included Deven Nagalingum, Minister of Youth and Sports; Mahen Gondeea, Minister of Arts and Culture; Giandev Moteea, President of the local organizing committee; and Jelena Dannhauer, representative of Interkultur, the event organizer.

Over nine days, the festival will feature choir competitions, friendship concerts in shopping malls, and ceremonies in the Côte d’Or area.

The event’s goal is to promote unity beyond language and cultural differences, celebrating harmony among peoples.

Minister Nagalingum emphasized that the festival is “a celebration of harmony between peoples.”

It is also seen as an opportunity to showcase Mauritius’ cultural identity on the global stage and boost cultural tourism.

The official website, locicc2025.com, is now live with all relevant information. A sponsorship kit has been introduced, offering four sponsorship levels: Platinum (Rs 3 million), Gold (Rs 1.5 million), Silver (Rs 750,000), and Bronze (Rs 300,000).
