Viral Video Sparks Crisis: Aqua Springs Breaks Silence on Bottled Water Concerns

A video shared on social media since Monday, June 2, shows a man filling 19-liter bottles labeled Aqua Springs with tap water. The footage, taken without the man’s knowledge, appeared to show him standing next to a van parked near a staircase leading to a house. This has raised the question: are these bottles intended for sale or personal use?
Vishal Nowbuth, CEO of Country Springs Co Ltd, who is currently abroad, called the situation “very serious.”
He said his company’s Managing Director will file a police report with the Central CID.
According to Nowbuth, the bottles in the video include both Aqua Springs and another brand.
He noted that the Aqua Springs bottles in the footage have blue caps, while genuine Aqua Springs bottles have white, transparent caps with expiration dates stamped using a special machine.
The company does not yet know where or when the video was filmed.
Nowbuth warned that if the man is planning to resell tap water branded as Aqua Springs, it’s a criminal act that threatens public health.
The company handles all deliveries across the country using its own trucks.
He advised the public to check the bottle caps—genuine Aqua Springs bottles have white, transparent caps.
A statement to be posted on the company’s Facebook page to clarify the situation.
Background: In February 2023, the same brand was temporarily banned from sale by the Ministry of Health after bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa was found in some water samples.
Aqua Springs quickly resumed sales less than a week later after passing new tests confirming compliance with food safety standards.
On February 28, the Ministry prohibited the sale of Aqua Springs bottles again after detecting Pseudomonas aeruginosa lately.
The company was ordered to halt production during this period.
