Driver Warns: 1 Concrete Block Nearly Caused Serious Crash
A motorist shared a warning after nearly having a serious accident on May 28 in Coromandel, Mauritius. The driver was traveling from Coromandel toward Bagatelle, shortly after crossing the SAJ bridge, when his sports car hit a concrete block on the road around 6:15 p.m.
The impact damaged one of the car’s wheels, startling the driver and passengers—his wife and child.
“It was getting dark as winter approached, and light rain reduced visibility,” he explained. Fortunately, a towing service responded quickly to assist.
The driver believes the concrete block likely came from a spill of fresh concrete from a concrete mixer, which hardened on the road.
He warned that such obstacles can be extremely dangerous, especially for motorcyclists and other drivers.
He calls on concrete companies to exercise greater caution to prevent similar accidents in the future.
