The Mauritius Export Association (MEXA) has a new president. On May 29, during its 19th annual general meeting at Le Labourdonnais Hotel, Heba Capdevila Jangeerkhan was elected to lead the organization, replacing outgoing president Dominique de Froberville.

This election marks a historic milestone, as Heba Capdevila Jangeerkhan is the first woman to hold this position since MEXA was founded.

She previously served as vice-president of the association. Since December 2022, she has also been CEO of Cementis Group Indian Ocean.

Heba Capdevila Jangeerkhan sees the export sector as vital for Mauritius’s development. She said, “I see this sector as an essential driver of economic transformation.

Despite uncertainties and upcoming challenges, I remain optimistic.” She aims to promote a forward-looking export model focused on adding value and boosting global competitiveness.

“This model should embrace new technologies, invest in human capital, and uphold high standards,” she added.
